" Nurture Your Body is constantly expanding and evolving to provide the most effective techniques to enhance wellbeing; to empower people to take back their power by creating harmony and balance within all aspects of the body – the mental, emotional and physical – to be in alignment with their true nature. "
Healing would be simple if all it took was popping a pill. The evidence shows that we cannot achieve health and wellness in this way, and most people would agree. Unfortunately, the modern medical system is still running on an outdated paradigm and the rise of alternative and complimentary therapies are a result of this. The disconnect between alternative and allopathic medicine is in my opinion a perfect analogy for the disconnect within people in our society. Our society is built upon a model that encourages us to constantly be in our minds; in our heads 24/7, completely disconnected from our bodies and its inner intelligence as well as each other. We struggle to be alone, sit in silence, be present, feel. All of this constant exposure to stimulation overexcites the nervous system, freezing us in a constant state of flight-or-flight causing hyperactivity of the psychological and physiological systems. This overstimulation is stress and according to the World Health Organization “Stress is the health epidemic of the 21st Century.” The majority of people are overworked, overstressed and overwhelmed to the point where they don’t even realise that it’s stress they are suffering from because it has become their normal state, yet, the effects can be seen all around, even on the massage table. An overstimulated nervous system can produce a variety of symptoms:

  • sleeping problems
  • digestive problems
  • muscular pain and tension
  • elevated heart rate
  • high blood pressure
  • headaches
  • TMJ (temporomandibular joint dysfunction)
  • grinding teeth
  • anxiety, worry, depression
  • unsettled mind
  • lack of concentration and focus
  • lack of energy, fatigue
  • weight gain
  • fatigue
  • burnout (mental/emotional/physical)
  • decreased immune function
  • skin conditions
  • autoimmune disorders
  • fertility issues
  • premenstrual symptoms and pelvic pain
  • decreased libido

The human body is much more intelligent and capable of healing than we have been conditioned to believe but each one of us is responsible for creating the conditions to allow the body to heal. Nurture Your Body believes that by addressing our physical, mental and emotional states we can bring about harmony in our bodies and balance in our lives.
